The current Greenbrier was built in 1910 (However, the resort, then known by the name White Sulphur Springs, has been welcoming guests since 1778.)

Last Renovated: 2020

Number of Rooms: 710 rooms, including suites, guest cottages and estate homes.

Restaurants & Bars: 11 restaurants, of which 2 include in-room dining, and 9 bars.

Activities:

The Greenbrier has 1 indoor pool and 1 outdoor pool. Besides, the resort offers lots of indoor and outdoor activities for children, teens, families, adults, and team buildings.


Guests can do aerial adventures courses, the alpine climbing tower, biking tours, canopy tours, a carriage/sleigh ride, croquet, falconry, fishing, geocaching, shooting, horseback riding, ice skating, the Jeep or Polaris driving adventure, the jeep-pulled trolley tour, kayaking, the mountaineer experience, paintballing, Segway tours, shuffleboard, stand up paddle boarding, outdoor tennis, and whitewater rafting.


Indoor activities include creating stuffed animals, playing at the arcade, bowling, making bracelets and jewelry, doing a bunker tour or escape room, attending various demonstrations or workshops, playing indoor pickleball and tennis, enjoying a make-over, etc.


Guests can also take golf courses at 1 of the 3 resort courses, the private course, or a 9-hole par-3 walking course. In winter, there is the possibility of virtual indoor golfing.


For those who like gaming, the hotel is home to The Greenbrier Casino Club.

Spa:

Award winning 40,000 square foot spa with 42 treatment rooms as well as a separate MedSpa

Fitness Center:

Housed in the indoor tennis facility with over 20 different pieces of equipment as well as a wide variety of fitness classes staffed by certified physical trainers.

Sundries Shop: Yes


Shopping:

Wide array of 36 shops on property ranging from gifts, Art Colony Shops, leather goods, young adults’, women’s and men’s clothing, jewelry, flowers, Ralph Lauren, make-up and skincare, toys, to name a few.

Pet Friendly?:

The Greenbrier welcomes guests with pets (cats and dogs).

Arrival Experience:

A visual “WOW” entrance! You were treated as though you were family!

Cleanliness:

Housekeeping is constantly sanitizing public areas, increased attention to high-touch areas in rooms.

Soft Goods:

Soft goods in rooms and carpets in public areas replaced in 2020

Room Lighting:

Good lighting with multiple lamps throughout the room

Technology in Room: They could use more charging stations.

Bathroom:

Dual sinks. Separate shower and bathtub (Note smaller rooms have only one sink and combination shower tub

Closet-Drawers:

Great drawer space and an ample size closet with safe

Service:

9 out of 10. For a resort this large, there is a surprisingly family feel.

Mini Bar: Fully stocked

View:

Back of the building but in a quiet alcove which was appreciated!

Sound Proofing: Decent

Activities: 1000% something for everyone!

Spa Rating: 9 out of 10

Exercise Facility: Yes. It's great!

Concierge Rating: 8 on a scale of 1-10
