Jessica Alba celebrated her 43rd birthday in a style. The actress and her gal pals stayed at Rosewood Mayakoba in Mexico's Riviera Maya. Mayakoba is a place that exudes elegance, tranquility, and natural beauty. I guess our invitation got lost in the mail! (jk)
It’s common knowledge that Jessica loves the Riviera Maya and the Rosewood Mayakoba so much that she was appointed a Rosewood Curator in 2017. However, her ties to the ancient Mayan ruins and sacred waters aren’t just for publicity. The star and her crew can’t get enough of the resort, and this may be the family favorite for a Jessica Alba vacation.
You may know Jessica Alba as an actor or a member of People Magazine’s Most Beautiful list. But if that’s it, then you don’t know her at all. This ligit entrepreneur built The Honest Company, whose worth went from $0 to $2.1 billion in 10 years. Not bad for a decade’s
worth of work.
The Rosewood Mayakoba is more like a retreat than a vacation. The Rosewood’s many islands connect to form a network of luxury villas with lagoon-front views. As a brand owner and actress, Jessica doesn’t get much time to fill her favorite role as a mom. At Mayakoba, she enjoys cooking authentic meals with her three kids and husband. The villas at Mayakoba fit her family comfortably with private suites that feature three to four bedrooms and generous living space.
But for this sponsored birthday celebration, Alba brought a group of “soul sister” friends to Mayakoba and documented the adventure on social media.
Paradise in Style
Rosewood Mayakoba, a resort known for its eco-conscious design nestled amid the lush tropical surroundings of the Yucatán Peninsula. This 620-acre property, with its mangrove jungles, tranquil lagoons, and pristine beaches, provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable birthday celebration. Alba shared some of her birthday celebration on Instagram and Facebook.
Jessica’s adventurous spirit led her and her guests to explore the natural wonders surrounding Rosewood Mayakoba. The day began with a boat tour through the resort’s serene lagoons, where they encountered a variety of wildlife, including exotic birds, turtles, and even the occasional crocodile.
Exciting Times Ahead: "Trigger Warning
Amidst the birthday celebrations, Alba's fans were eagerly reminded of her upcoming role in Netflix's latest action thriller, "Trigger Warning," set to drop on June 21. This highly anticipated film showcases Alba in a dynamic and intense role, promising to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Excursions & Mexican Adventures
The Into the Blue actress and her birthday pack also ventured off property into an underground cave during her travels in Mexico, posting the journey to her Instagram on Tuesday. “The most magical afternoon visiting the cenotes,” Jessica captioned another post.
The carousel began with a snap of Jessica relaxing along the edge of the water in her floral print bikini with her hand joyfully thrown up into the air. Further snaps showed Jessica and her travel companions inside the cenote as they explored the region wearing life vests and helmets.
'We're going into a cenote,' she explained in the clip. 'We're going into the water and we're going to see some really beautiful things.'
The Yucatán Peninsula alone has an estimated 10,000 cenotes, water-filled sinkholes naturally formed by the collapse of limestone and located across the peninsula.
The video showed Jessica and her friends climbing down a ladder to enter the cave before they walked into the cool, crystal-clear water before eventually making their way out.
Jessica also shared several snaps of her soaking up the sun as she laid out beside the cool water.
The Ruins of Chichén Itzá
Jessica birthday entourage also took in a bit of culture and history with a site visit to the Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá. This is one of Mexico’s most important cultural landmarks, famous for its treasure trove of pre-Columbian architecture and artifacts. Dating back nearly 1,500 years, the archaeological city was built with the iconic pyramid of Kukulcán at its center, the greatest symbol of Mayan society and an important astronomical and mathematical achievement.
Alba called the tour “a bucket list experience.”
Girls Just Want to Have Fun!
Jessica’s celebration wrapped up with a lively cocktail hour, featuring a live mariachi band and a selection of signature cocktails, including Alba’s favorite, the Paloma. As the sky turned shades of pink and orange, the group enjoyed a sumptuous dinner under the stars. The menu, a fusion of Mexican and international flavors, included dishes like grilled octopus, beef tenderloin with mole sauce, and a decadent chocolate tamale for dessert.
Before departing, Alba took a moment to express her gratitude to the resort staff, who had gone above and beyond to make her birthday unforgettable. The farewell was bittersweet, as the group had formed a deep connection with the magical surroundings and the warm hospitality of Rosewood Mayakoba.
