African Adventure!

This was a fun trip to plan for two wonderful couples. The itinerary included South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. These images are from their adventure at MalaMala Game Reserve in South Africa. It is the largest and the oldest private big five game reserve in South Africa, It covers around 130 km2 or 15 000 hectares of land.

MalaMala Rattray’s Camp

Their accommodations were at MalaMala Rattray’s Camp. It offers an intimate glimpse into an era long lost, when travellers from afar married the magic of the African bush with elegance and refinement. Combining humble opulence and romantic exclusivity with unrivalled game viewing, MalaMala Rattray’s Camp is the premier safari destination for those seeking to experience the wild heart of Africa.

MalaMala Rattrays Camp is the epitome of classic style and good taste. Each luxurious, freestanding and spacious suite offers an atmosphere of lush seclusion and boasts spectacular views of the Sand River where wildlife of all shapes and sizes can be viewed whilst taking a dip in the private plunge pool, cooling off in the outdoor shower or enjoying a massage on the deck.

"Toe-ing" the Line in Italy!

There was a time when Sicily was kind of the forgotten son of Italy. As of late though, it's become quite popular... and for 8 TravelAnne Explorers, Sicily was a destination they will always remember.

Sicily, the largest Mediterranean island, is just off the "toe" of Italy's "boot." Its rich history is reflected in sites like the Valley of the Temples, the well-preserved ruins of 7 monumental, Doric-style Greek temples, and in the Byzantine mosaics at the Cappella Palatina, a former royal chapel in capital city Palermo. On Sicily’s eastern edge is Mount Etna, one of Europe’s highest active volcanoes.

I sent them on this adventure of the entire island courtesy of Tauck Tours.

Most people would never think of going to Sicily for beach time but look how stunning the Verdura Resort, part of the Rocce Forte Collection is!

My merry band of 8 travelers last stop in Sicily included The Grand Hotel Timeo - a Belmond Hotel.

Set high in the rocky hills on the east coast of Sicily, with Mount Etna as a backdrop, Grand Hotel Timeo has long been the destination of choice for glamorous international stars – Audrey Hepburn, Marcello Mastroianni and Elizabeth Taylor have all been guests. It is a stunning location adjacent to the Greek Theater, surrounded by a six-acre park, with gardens encircling a panoramic pool.

A big thank you to Kathy for sharing her pictures!

Greek Odyssey!

When I grow up I want to be just like Jack & Roxanne! They are close friends and wonderful clients. Roxanne is a legal eagle who loves to wonder. Jack is an architect by trade and a photographer by hobby.

Their latest adventure took them and another couple to Greece for a month and a half. Jack's closing vacation post on social media says it all!
