Dear TravelAnne Explorers Building New Memories

Many of you are wrapping up wonderful adventures from various exotic destinations. There are a ton of new stories about the countries you have visited. Not to mention items you are checking off your “bucket lists.” Many of you are plotting your next journey and anxiously asking about more options to build new memories!

Editor's Note:

Whether it's a 2-week escape or a 2-day weekend getaway, we're here to make it happen.

I’ve heard so many amazing stories about your adventures over the last few weeks and it warms my heart. Some of you have reached out via social media. Others send me photos directly.

Where have you been the last 6 weeks? All over the place. Greece, Curacao, Austria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Italy, Ireland, France, Germany, The Netherlands, England, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Mexico!

With that in mind, we’re starting a new feature called “I’m a TravelAnne Explorer.” It features photos or social media posts from our Explorers traveling the world. You can email your photos directly to me or tag us on social media.

If you don’t already follow us on your social media platform, please do. It’s a wonderful way to stay connected! We are most active on Instagram and Facebook but dabble in Twitter and LinkedIn as well.

Vendors and alliance partners are coming back to visit us in office and host events. They are so thrilled to once again be able to show their destinations or properties off and eager for you to see them too!

And speaking of your next adventure, there are plenty of great new choices!

Palazzo Portinari Salviati in Florence is one of those new properties. It opened this Spring and looks wonderful. An old-world palazzo housing 13 suites and apartments and a Michelin starred chef to add even more credibility!

If you book through TravelAnne, we can secure four nights for the price of three between 11/1/22 and 02/28/23. Keep in mind there are some blackout dates, but if you're so inclined, this is worth a discussion!

The Sense Experience, in the Maremma/Tuscan Coast beach area opened in 2021 with Claudio Catani (formerly the hardest working GM at the Brunelleschi in Florence) at the helm. Good things happen when he is involved! The price point is very manageable and will only continue to rise!

People can’t seem to get enough of Greece either! The Myconian Collection which added its eleventh property in May is owned by one family and each caters to a different clientele, from young to more mature ,to families. From Small Luxury Hotels, to Design Hotels, to Leading Hotels of the World to Relais et Chateaux..anything is possible!

If looking for something new domestically I was just in New York visiting my oldest daughter. WOW its back in full force! Restaurant reservations are tight and Broadway is humming.

We dined at the new Ritz Carlton Nomad, which is sleek and contemporary…a far cry from the old Ritz days of their upscale formulaic footprint!

Another newbie is the pink themed Barriere Fouquet’s in Soho. I’m seeing a “girls weekend” filled with spa treatments, and a bit of bubbly while watching GIGI and/or FUNNY FACE!

For all of you “Amanjunkies” out there the long-anticipated Aman New York on the corner of 5th Avenue and 57th is now finally open! They have managed to create a zen oasis in the heart of the city. The Garden Terrace with fire pits looks amazing, but if you must keep the city vibe going, they have an underground jazz club speakeasy…the newest rage.

For those of you thinking that I’m being too “hotel-centric” know this:

I just love the hotel experience and now there are even more options to talk about. It is just the Eloise in me, I can’t help it. Speaking of that rambunctious child, I had tea with her and some of my family at the Palm Court in the iconic Plaza Hotel. It didn’t disappoint. The lobby was abuzz with revelers celebrating their 115th year.

Another notable celebration to mention is the 150th year for Hotel Villa d’Este, on Lake Como, Italy. As a matter of fact, in honor of their birthday they will remain open until January 2, 2023. They are planning on being all dressed up for the holiday season. What a unique way to celebrate. Let’s do it!

For those of you that think you are too late to plan a festive get-a-way, never fear there is always something out there to be discovered. In particular, if you are willing to forego beach or mountains (of course I can still find options but it will be at a premium, which it always is this time of the year), then we will do some soul searching!

Finally, just a personal story about memories and the power of travel. A dear friend and client called me recently. She had suffered a loss in her family and was checking in. She wanted me to know that her family was grateful for the memories and experiences they shared with their departed loved one. She also wanted to thank me because many of those memories were of trips I had arranged.

These are the kind of moments I find very humbling. It’s why I’ve always considered many of you more like family rather than clients. We are explorers. We love the adventure and cherish the memories.

It’s time to build some more.

As always, happy trails & keep dreaming!

When you work with TravelAnne, you have one of the best in the business on your side.
