Dear TravelAnne Explorers: Welcome to the Multi-Moon Edition!

For our money, 2022 is the year of the “moon.” The honeymoon, the mini-moon, the baby-moon… and even the let’s get reconnected-moon.

It is time again to touch base with all my TravelAnne Explorers….and there are A LOT of you!

Ready to start making new travel memories?

What great relief! We have a green light to travel again, and we are all playing “catch up” this summer.

We are catching up and re-connecting with those who are nearest and dearest to us. The same is true with friends near and far away. Many of you are finally taking those cancelled 2020 trips and enjoying the experiences that all of us once took for granted.

Love is in the Air!

According to new research, a staggering 97 percent of couples surveyed reported that their honeymoon plans were disrupted by the pandemic, with nearly all of them having been forced to cancel, postpone, or downsize their post-wedding travel plans over the past two years.

With a projected 4.7 million weddings occurring between 2022 and 2023, couples collectively have their sights set on bigger and better honeymoon options.

We’re launching a new series this month called The Honeymoon Boom! It won’t provide all the answers but it’s a good place to start for those planning a romantic getaway.

Another sector of the travel marketplace that is exploding is what I like to call the multi-moon.

It begins with the “mini-moon” phenomenon. Mini-moons are short “getaways,” usually two to five days right after the wedding. But if you’re like most young people these days, you have your sights set on something larger.

Enter the multi-moon!

Multi-moons are mini-moons plus a second more lengthy and extravagant honeymoon that is planned for a few months later. COVID really made this a popular option for many. Initial weddings were limited to family, and then an additional wedding with friends happened once life and borders opened up.

I would say that 1/3 of my new clients are honeymooners. With the assistance of Travel Nat, my own family “Covid bride” we have been extremely busy booking hotels and setting up experiences.

Where are these love birds going? To name a few of the most popular with multiple requests for each destination the leaders are the Maldives, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Hawaii and Anguilla.

For my money, I think the new generation has it right… and we should all follow their lead.

Travel is about experiences shared with the most important people in our lives. Whether you’re starting a new relationship… or rekindling an old one… find the joy of exploring the world with the one you love!

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

As Always, Happy Trails & Keep Dreaming!
