Introducing the New Grand Suites
The recent introduction of new "Grand Suites" onboard the Royal Scotsman elevates this iconic train journey to new heights of luxury. The grand suites just became availabe in May. The fare starting at £12,000-per-person are not for the faint of heart!
While chugging from Edinburgh through the Scottish Highlands, guests in the grand suites will get to indulge in private transfers to and from the train, a personal butler service and in-room dining on request. You'll also get one complimentary spa treatment.
The Royal Scotsman’s Grand Suites were created by Tristan Auer, a Parisian designer who works with Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons, and Rosewood hotels when he’s not customizing jets, cars, or boats for private clients. For this, his first train project, he collaborated with Scottish craftsmen to design the furnishings, including a Scottish-larch dining table with pewter detailing and fabrics including cashmere and tweeds. For tartans, he worked with Araminta Campbell, the Edinburgh-based textile weavers, to create bespoke patterns: “They do it like the old days, and they’re passionate,” Auer says.
The Caledonian Suite
Named in homage to the Caledonian Railway, this luxurious suite features a spacious double bed, elegant furnishings, and panoramic windows offering stunning views of the Scottish Highlands.
