Hotel Bennett is one of the newest entries into the luxury-market in a city that has become one of America’s most popular weekend getaways! This grand hotel in Charleston, SC is getting rave reviews from the likes of Travel & Leisure, Forbes Magazine and Southern Living.

We’re happy to add TravelAnne to that list!

In short, Hotel Bennet has it all… an elegant experience, wonderful guest rooms and a central location. Oh, and then there’s the dining experience!

Hotel Bennett is named for the Bennett family. Michael Bennett is the Charleston-based owner of the luxury property. Besides, the hotelier has the Bennett Hospitality company. A multi-faceted, real estate and hotel development company, as well as a hospitality, restaurant, and asset management company.

Michael collaboratively manages the hotel with Salamander Hotels & Resorts. A luxury hotel company founded by Sheila Johnson.

The hotel is located on the corner of King Street and Marion Square. Before the opening of Hotel Bennett, it was home to the original west wing of The Citadel, South Carolina’s Military Academy. More recently, the hotel’s site served as the Charleston Library. The construction of Hotel Bennett started in 2015.

For dinner, guests take place at the two-story signature restaurant, Gabrielle. Executive Chef Michael Sichel offers fine French cuisine with both creole and Southern influences. Sitting on the outdoor terrace, you overlook the naturally peaceful setting of Marion Square.

Can’t get enough of the French cuisine? Indulge in the authentic French pastries, desserts, and sandwiches at La Pâtisserie, or drink a cup of coffee.

To complete a pool day at Hotel Bennett, there is Fiat Lux. A rooftop bar with a unique cabana experience and beautiful views of Charleston’s cityscape. For a more private experience, guests can soak into the pool-a-like deep tubs in each Bennett’s suite.

The hotel will also feature Camellias. Enjoy your glass at this extraordinary pink champagne bar! A nice detail is the reclaimed marble from the former library for its bar and tabletops.

The property includes a concierge club and a signature luxury spa with five treatment rooms. The spa provides exclusive retail offerings for the shopaholics! There are over 12,000 square feet for organizing grand events and hosting meetings. Not to mention the Crown Ballroom for weddings with an astonishing 30-foot ceiling and expansive arched windows.

Hotel Bennett is a relatively new addition to the Salamander Group, which has a growing reputation for excellence in the hotel industry. Salamander is a female owned company which is worth pointing out as the attention to detail at these properties is impressive.
